I don't mean to go off on a rant here -
Wait, yes I do, and specifically about these asshats who enjoy hassling me on my choice of mage training methods.
I'm using Slayer Dart, okay, because it's pretty cheap on runes (minds and deaths). The only problem I have with it is switching staves to cast high alch or tele grab (will be solved with carrying the appropriate runes instead of staves).
The asshats I snort over are the Call-Me-A-Noob-And-Run-Away types. They see what I'm doing, call me a noob and leave, either tele or run. Thank you so much for the childish name-calling. Excuse me while I finish killing this giant rock crab with my noobish Slayer Dart while you whack ineffectually with your uber rune scimmy.
The other asshat types are the ones who tell me I'm wasting money and that there are only 4 spells to train magic Don't you know those 4 spells, dearest reader? Well, fear not because I will "enlighten" you.
1. High alchemy on yew longbows
2. Crumble undead
3. Ice barrage at PC/CW/giant rock crabs/rock lobsters
4. Fire bolt at steel dragons
There you have them. Oh, and you can't use these spells anywhere but stated, regardless of your combat level, wealth and membership status. If you do, you are a/an [insert insult of choice here]. Reminds me of Jaxana's post about repeater experts. The relevant part is highlighted below:
"While pushing for 1800 I definately learned a lot. And, while it might sound odd, the people I have a lack of patience (tolerance?) for has changed. It doesn't bother me to be called a noob or bugged anymore. At least not in the stupid harassment that usually takes place. Nope, my new pet peeves are what I call the "repeater-experts". Example, ask the best way to level thieving and they answer Pyramid Plunder. Really? Cause I would say it has a lot to do with what your current level is and what your goals are. And whether you've done Contact. But it's pretty obvious who's been reading the guides and are just repeating what they read. And that annoys me. Usually I ignore it. But....man....I guess I just want people to go out and try stuff before telling people it's the best. And I really really get annoyed when someone makes fun of how someone chooses to train."
After being bored out of my gourd darting giant rock crabs, I head southish to dart caged greater demons. I'm happily maging away, tele grabbing charms, runes, the occasional rune full helm and/or clue scroll. I'm noting to take air runes instead of the air staff so I don't have to take time out to put the Dart back on auto cast. Soon, a ranger runs up to the cage and the hassling begins:
So, what *is* the cheap method of maging at greater demons? Fire bolt? I can't do that! That's only for steel dragons and I don't have my chaos gauntlets with me!
I certainly could've gotten into a deep discussion about how it's my money to waste, not his, but you can only rebut so much in a MMORPG. If Timothy Gold or Marlaine talked to me about leveling magic, I'd give them my ear with a smile. They know; they have the capes; they've been through this shit.I'm wondering if Imdakillar would consider 99 prayer a "waste of money"?
ION, Canadian servers are back. Jagex hasn't released a BTS:May and it's May already. My sound is gone from the computer. It suddenly went bye-bye this morning while I was maging crabs. Rebooting my computer didn't restore it. I know the culprit - Java's latest update - but don't know how to fix it. I knew I shouldn't have d/l it, but those 4 coffee cups in my desktop tray were seriously pissing me off.
FYI: if there's not a new post, I didn't do anything in RS. :P
Mostly spent the day enchanting air orbs. Some times, it's dead boring and I get sleepy which is bad since a revenant can pop up anytime. Today, I was really into it. I think because the spell gives 76 xp each cast.
I have another magic training idea. I'm going to use slayer/magic dart. It's pretty cheap to buy or replace the runes. I have an order for 240k mind runes on the GE, so if you want a little money, please sell to me lol. The deaths will be a mix of crafted and bought. I sold off 46k pure essence, keeping 21k for my own purposes (getting to 80 runecrafting).
My plan for leveling magic is with slayer/magic dart on giant rock crabs or greater demons. May as well get decent charm drops along with a few decent items (addy longswords, plate armor, rune helms, clue scrolls). I have my pretty black mystic and Zammy god cape from my house and I'm going to push myself to use magic for combat. Sort of goes against my fighter nature, but holy Jebus, I'm 119 combat with 89 hitpoints, great equipment and a penchant for taking a 1 click teleport. Anything truly dangerous is going to see me waving bye-bye as I grow smaller and smaller. XD
I had commenting on, then turned it off. I received a message from jaklumen yesterday in which he wrote: "I would like to add you back, but as you've disabled your comments, I'm not sure what that would serve."
It got me asking myself, "How important are comments to me?"
Other than a few people who made themselves asshats, I didn't mind getting comments. I'm sorry to say, but I rarely read them unless I asked for help or wanted peoples' opinions.
Vox has it so you have to sign up in order to comment. I know that's annoying and I'm not one to sign up for something just to leave a comment. Vox also has it so I can restrict to "friends/family" for commenting. If you're on my "friends/family" list, you can comment (after signing up on Vox, of course :P). I could restrict who can view this blog, too, from "friends/family" to nobody and you'd get a nice little message such as:
"I don’t have any public blog posts on Vox right now. I might be blogging using one of Vox’s privacy settings to control who gets to see my posts, photos, and media. You’re welcome to send me a message. Thanks!"
Well, if I didn't want people to read my blog, I'd not put it on the internet. Note binders and lockable diaries are easy and cheap to buy from Wal-mart or Staples.
I look at this blog and my previous blogs as good resources for anyone looking for help on RuneScape, be it training or advice or a good read that isn't throwing RWT in your face.
For the record, commenting is ON as long as you are signed up with Vox. I don't guarantee I'll read comments. If it's important, you can email me at: kitt.fox.blog@gmail.com (kittDOTfoxDOTblog@gmailDOTcom - I find the periods hard to see).
One of the methods for magic training is casting Curse in full armor. I thought, "How hard can this be?" I strapped on my worst magic attack gear which got me down to -66 magic attack, but that came up to -62 when I equipped a mud staff. I grabbed my 115k body runes and took a lovely trip to the Ardy zoo. Those zoo keepers are quite protective of their charges and enjoyed getting in my way.
After waking up, I logged back in and moved to the bridge above the snakes and began cursing them. They seemed more resistant to the spell, which means more casting and more exp!
After waking up to being attacked by a strange plant, I ran away. Okay, this is not working out. No one told me this would be more boring than agility. >.>
I logged out on my own and took time to work on different plans.
I have to prioritize. My money to spend is limited. I'd prefer not to spend every gold coin unless I can recoup it with either little loss or some sort of profit. Teleporting looks good, but unless I craft the runes, I will lose a lot of money. I looked to Super Heat Item and High Alchemy for help. I could buy ores from the GE, super heat them into bars and sell the bars on the GE. I could buy ores, super heat, smith into platemail (steel or mithril) and high alch those. I could lament my selling off 45k yew longbows from when I gained 99 fletching when I knew I should've kept them. I can buy finished bows (yew and magic) from the GE, but only 100 at a time. There's always finding someone selling yew longs in person and buy what I need.
For the moment, I'm buying 100 each yew and magic longs from the GE and high alching them. If I can get my ass in gear to craft the nature runes, I'll make a better profit than buying the nats too.

Cannonballs
19,944 c'balls = 3.87M gold
Yes, Jagex removed the Canadian servers. Everything on this continent is now United States 1, 2 or 3.So very lame.
I've been smelting out cannonballs and am down to 4k steel bars. The prices are looking stable at 189 gp each ball, so I'll make a profit. Shitty exp, but lovely gold.
I've decided on a method to get 99 magic. Expect a lot of cursing in the next couple of weeks. I don't plan on no-lifing it, but it may happen since I really want a pretty blue cape for my collection.Nah, it's not the cape that drives me. I'm close to finishing the skill in toto, so why not go for it?
Can you tell I feel great? Finally got some levels and finished off 2 skills. I spent most of my day in Edgeville, either making potions or smelting cannonballs. Being involved in my private world, I didn't notice until late that Kh510 was at the bank ...with his pet black dragon. Dude even did the summoning cape emote, which is super nice since you know he gets begged to emote 10x a day. I came back later to get a good picture, but this will have to do.I don't know where Kh510 ranks on the high scores, but dude, a pet dragon is hawesome! ^_^
One of the skills I finished off was herblore. No, I didn't get 99. :P I can, however, make all the potions (again). Once more I ask, who uses barbarian mixes???
Cannonball smelting is boring. Lord Vega, who gained his 99 smithing via cannonballs, has +1 respect just for making them. They are worth money, though, yet the smithing xp is so tiny - 25 xp per 4 balls. I made 8400 and sold them for the highest price on the GE, netting a little over 1.5M. Let's hope the price stays at 150 or higher so I can make my money back. Doing all that got me 86 smithing; I can make rune axes. This would be a big deal if they were worth something. IIRC, rune bars are 13k each yet rune axes sell for 7.5k each. Maybe this would be a viable option if I could mine my own rune ores. You know, I've only seen 2 rune rocks with ore in them in my whole nearly 4 years of playing this game? There's some kind of timing + world hop system. Whatever, it means only 2 more levels until I can pound out full adamant armor for the armor stand in my PoH.
The other skill which I've completed is magic. Finally got off my ass and did some heavy combat magic. With bloods being craftable, I got enough of them for 2500 fire wave spells. I trucked myself down to Gu'Tanoth and toasted the caged greater demons. I saved the last 10k xp for humidify on Moonclan island. I wanted to get the level up on that book so I could see that last spell appear. I would like to thank Baba Yaga and the chicken house for coming.
I am not a happy camper with Legacy of Seergaze. I had to play Burgh de Rott Ramble, an escort mini game, in order to start the quest and that is total bullshit. What will the next quest involve? Making a potion with Trouble Brewing? Killing the penance queen so an NPC can wear the fighter torso? Yeah, I hear you saying that I didn't *have* to do the quest and I wasn't *forced* either. If there had been a way around it, I would've found it. Ivan Strom is of no use during the quest; he's merely a pointless diversion to get everyone to play bodyguard/babysitter for some lazy fuckhead. Hey, maybe next time I want to get to Burgh de Rott, I should stand around the Paterdomus and promise a fabulous reward of 15 bowstrings for a babysitter. Even getting lost in Meiyerditch Maze was a happier moment.
I did the quest in order to make blood runes. You can see me at the blood altar with a couple other players. We used the shortcut under the Canifis bar. You can find out the hows and whys on the RuneScape Wiki under blood altar.
I did a bit of runecrafting, mostly nats and deaths. For a treat, I slayer darted giant rock crabs. Not much loot from them since no one is buying rock shell items. I fucked up big time buying steel bars. I thought cannonballs gave 25 xp per ball, but it's 25 xp per steel bar (4 balls). I couldn't sell the bars back either, so I'm just going to make cannonballs and pray I can make my money back. :/
On a sad note, I won't be able to get 99 farming this year, at least the way I'm farming now. Unless I can get a metric fuck-ton of cash (40M) for magic/yew seeds plus coconuts/cactus spines, my El Cheapo method of herbs + fruit trees is all I can do. It's a huge endeavor which I felt I could accomplish in January, but damn it's looking bleak. I will keep farming; I'm not giving up on it. It'll just take a lot longer than I expected. I'll put my cape getting efforts into magic. I've been sitting close to level 96 for a week. I have to decide now if I want to stay the El Cheapo (high alchemy or Curse or Camelot teleport) or fork over cash (ice barrage at CW or giant rock crabs or Ape Atoll). Magic's easier to figure out how long it'll take with the cheap methods since they rely only on casting xp.
Yesterday and today have been mostly not playing RS and dealing with IRL crap (dad's estate). So much for being "addicted" rofl. :P
I did do some things. I spawn camped 28 boots of lightness in the temple of Ikov. So exciting, I know. I made a few hundred Sara brews and sold them. I broke down and spent a few million on crushed nests because I'm farming 60-70 toadflax per day and sell off the Sara brews every couple days. Though I'm thinking I should wait until the weekend hits before selling anymore. Sunday, two people with farming capes were on either side of me at the GE while I made potions. God, I want that cape so frickin' bad!
I changed back into a female last night. It kept creeping me out to see myself referred to as "Master" and "Mi'lord" Kitt Fox. Not many people talked to me when I was male.
The post title you are wondering about. I get asked to trade and give price checks many, many times a day and I don't do it. Why? There's no reason why I should. Anyone asking for a price check can just as easily get to the GE or check on Zybez/RuneHQ/Tipit/Official Forums to find out what something costs. You weren't begging for price checks before the GE, so what's the big deal? No, I don't have a sound reason for refusing other than I don't want to do so.
The new Myreque quest is out today. I started it and left it when I got to the two assassins in the Salve temple. They were praying against me and I didn't feel like schlepping around 2 suits of armor, runes, bow and arrows. I am excited over the knowledge of being able to make blood runes. No more relying on monster drops or other players! It makes ancient magic more palatable to me.
ION, I turned off comments. It has nothing to do with any previous comments. I couldn't find out how to turn them off until today. XD
I'm pretty tired of blog host hopping. I liked Vox last time I blogged here (it was deleted) and decided to come back. Hopefully I'll be able to handle Kayla and The Spammers better here than on Blogger.
